According to sources, the Prime Minister is going to launch the 5G network service during the inauguration of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) which will take place from October 1 to 4 at Pragati Maidan in the capital Delhi. However, no official information has been given on this subject.

Sources at the telecoms ministry said the prime minister could launch 5G internet service on October 1. Minister of Communications, Electronics and Information Technology and Railways Ashwini Vaishnav will also be present at the inauguration of IMC. It is jointly organized by the Department of Telecommunications (DOT) and COAI, the umbrella organization for telecommunications service providers. This is the sixth edition of IMC this year.

It should be noted that during the 5G spectrum auction held in August, private sector telecom operators had purchased spectrum for over Rs 1.50 lakh crore. These companies had purchased the 51,236 MHz spectrum for Rs 150,173 crore, in which four companies participated. These include Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone-Idea Cellular and Adani Data Network.

Mobile service should be back up and running in Spalding by tomorrow.

South Holland has been plagued by technical problems this week – with mobile phone service outages and internet blackouts affecting residents at the same time.

Many residents and businesses in downtown Spalding have been without mobile phone service since Tuesday – but the problems are expected to end this weekend.

According to reports, people connected to providers such as O2, Vodafone, Sky Mobile and Giff Gaff were unable to make calls, send texts or access the internet.

O2 apologized and said it was doing “upgrade work” in the area.

Its signal tracking service explained: “Everything should be back to normal by 8 p.m. on Saturday September 24.”

Customers with EE, however, were unaffected – and the issue does not appear to have caused any problems for those outside of Spalding.

The Spalding Guardian understands that a mast in the town, believed to be operated by O2 and Vodafone, has been destroyed.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson urged residents to continue to call 999 in the event of an emergency even if they don’t have a phone signal – promising they’ll still be able to get through.

Several utility websites and phone systems also went down on Wednesday morning – reportedly due to a major outage affecting businesses in Lincolnshire and Leicestershire.

The problem is said to have affected councils, schools and libraries.

The South East Lincolnshire Partnership – which includes South Holland District Council – tweeted: ‘The council’s internet and sitelink service providers have reported that there is a major outage affecting a number of organizations in Lincolnshire and Leicestershire.

“During this time, there may be service disruption issues for residents and businesses using our website.

“Our suppliers are working to resolve the outage as quickly as possible and we will update once it has been resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

Lincolnshire Police said it appeared the internet problems were linked to a problem with the broadband itself – and there was ‘no indication’ it was due to anything other than a technical problem.

The phone signal problem is not believed to be related to the broadband outage, but the emergence of the two together has caused headaches for businesses and services.

GlobalData’s Mobile Broadband Forecast Model in Hong Kong (Q1 2022) reveals that while mobile voice and messaging revenue will continue to decline, mobile data revenue will grow at a CAGR of 5.1% over the forecast period, mainly due to the growth of mobile internet subscriptions. , and growing adoption of higher average revenue per user (ARPU) 5G services.

Aasif Iqbal, Telecom Analyst at GlobalData, said: “Average monthly mobile data usage is expected to increase significantly from 4.8 GB in 2021 to 12.1 GB in 2026, driven by growing online video consumption. and social media content on smartphones, supported by operator data-centric packages. Moreover, the predicted increase in the adoption of 5G services will increase the usage of mobile data over the forecast period.

5G subscriptions in the country will overtake 4G subscriptions in 2025 and continue to garner 61% of total mobile subscriptions in 2026, driven by 5G network expansions by all major mobile operators, including China Mobile, PCCW and 3 Hong Kong.

5G adoption will also be supported by telco’s 5G promotional offers at discounted rates and value-added benefits. SmarTone, for example, offers 110 GB of 5G mobile data, unlimited video call data for Zoom/Teams, a free handset for 2,000 HKD ($257) and an accessory voucher for 398 HKD ($51.1 )/month.

In short

  • Nova Labs and T-Mobile have teamed up to launch Helium Mobile, a 5G wireless service for smartphones.
  • It will use Helium’s decentralized and encrypted 5G network as well as T-Mobile’s network, and switch between the two as needed.

Crypto-powered wireless network Helium will soon be able to showcase its 5G mobile vision to many more users. Today, Helium Network founder Nova Labs announced that it has partnered with T-Mobile to create a new 5G wireless service called Helium Mobile.

Helium Mobile will be a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service and will operate both the T-Mobile and Helium networks for customers in the United States. Scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2023, the service will leverage both T-Mobile’s nationwide 5G network and Helium user-operated 5G nodes.

T-Mobile and Nova Labs signed a five-year deal to power the service.

By combining networks and switching between the two as needed, Nova Labs says the service will offer two important economic differentiators from traditional services: plans will start at just $5 per month, and users can also potentially earn rewards. cryptographic tokens for data sharing.

Boris Renski, co-founder and CEO of Nova Labs-owned firmware and hardware maker FreedomFi, said using Helium’s decentralized 5G network, which includes more than 4,500 active nodes operated by the user at present, which means that Nova does not have to invest in capital expenditure to build infrastructure.

“It allows us to build a cellular network with absolutely disruptive economics,” he said. Decrypt.

In addition to this, Helium Mobile will allow users to choose to receive the network’s MOBILE token rewards in exchange for providing anonymized data about their network usage. Renski said the service will treat these users as contributors, as the data will be used to monitor the quality and availability of the network as it evolves, but that’s purely optional.

Helium is a network of decentralized wireless hotspots that incentivize users with cryptographic tokens to run a node and take over the network. The initial Helium network, focused on powering Internet of Things (IoT) devices such as sensors and trackers, has more than 950,000 node operators now.

The 5G network is newer and so far has far fewer users, as 5G hardware is also currently much more expensive than the nodes that support the original IoT network. In June, the Helium Foundation revealed plans to create the original HNT Reward Token and create a new token for each networkto support other wireless protocols in the future.

How it works

Helium’s own 5G network will be Helium Mobile’s preferred network when coverage becomes available, Renski said. It’s a relatively small network right now, but it’s growing: Helium’s second network has taken shape since the launch of MOBILE Token Rewards, with over 1,700 new user nodes activated over the past few years. Last 30 days – and Renski said the pace is picking up.

Initially, voice calls will take place entirely on T-Mobile’s network, while data transfers will use the service provided by node operators in the decentralized network, where available. Otherwise, it automatically falls back to T-Mobile’s network. As Helium’s network grows, more of the load will be shifted from T-Mobile’s infrastructure.

There’s still work to be done in the coming months to make the automated switching process more seamless, Renski said. Decrypt. Initially, users may experience small delays when their smartphone switches between networks, but Nova Labs and T-Mobile will continue to work together to reduce and potentially eliminate these discrepancies over time.

“I would say we’re maybe halfway through that journey at this point,” Renski said of the refinement of the technical infrastructure. “But we still have some way to go to ensure that all users have a smooth user experience.”

Additionally, Nova Labs is working with smartphone manufacturers to design phones specifically designed to enable seamless switching. Users will also be able to bring their own phone, but a press release suggests that Helium-certified phones will be “more efficient” at validating network coverage and thus be able to earn more MOBILE token rewards.

Helium Mobile’s news follows the launch of a proposal to move the network from its own custom blockchain to Solana, a burgeoning blockchain platform for apps, DeFi, and NFT. Token-based voting is set to end on September 22, with an overwhelming majority of users vote in favor of the proposal at the time of this writing.

One of the worst parts of owning a vehicle is when it eventually needs fixing. Whether it’s a tire rotation or new brakes, it can take hours out of your schedule.

But what if a company can bring you the service?

In a new video on Twitter, Rivian Automobile Inc. SHORE CEO RJ Scaringe showcased some of the company’s mobile service vehicles.

The first is Rivian’s service van. The vehicle is equipped with the most common service tools placed in the front for the convenience of technicians. A rear crane can help move heavy loads in and out. A tire replacement kit allows Rivian to come to you and balance a new set of tires and wheels if needed.

Rivian also repurposed one of its R1T electric vans to help with its mobile service efforts. The entire rear seat appears to have been removed for maximum use of space so it can carry almost anything needed to service a customer’s vehicle in the field.

US automaker Rivian is rolling out a new fleet of all-electric mobile service vehicles to support the growing number of R1T pickup trucks and R1S SUVs on US roads. In addition to the images we’ve captured below, you’ll see a video posted by CEO RJ Scaringe, showing Rivian Vans and R1T outfitted with a range of mobile service gear.

Rivian ($RIVN) is a young electric vehicle automaker that is still looking to make a name for itself in an ever-growing electric vehicle market. After a massive IPO last fall, the company released its first two flagship models – the Microphone R1T and the R1S SUV, which recently began deliveries to customers.

Long before the R1T began production last year, we reported that Rivian had decided to go with a mobile service fleet to support its EV customers based on app-based scheduling. Similar to its American rival Tesla, Rivian’s electric service vehicles can come to you wherever you are.

At the time, Rivian said those support vehicles would be its all-electric vans, backed by more than 40 planned service centers across the United States and Canada. Last summer, we shared plans for one of these service centers in Costa Mesa, Calif., where Rivian is showcasing its new fleet of electric service vehicles today, and it includes more than vans.

RJ Scaringe shares his take on Rivian’s new electrical services fleet

In addition to the images captured by Electrekof Seth Weintraub seen above, Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe posted a new video mobile support electric vehicles being assembled at the company’s facilities in Costa Mesa, California.

Based on the video, we learned that the previously announced Vans will be joined by custom R1T pickup trucks equipped with gear to support Rivian customers in the wild…or in their driveways if that’s easier on their schedule.

In the video, a Rivian employee named Phil walks Scaringe through the customized Rivian Van, explaining some of the design that was designed to support fleet drivers and the services they will provide to the growing number of Rivian owners.

This includes everything from wheel and tire replacement equipment, a crane for lifting heavy objects, and all the tools in between. R1T pickups are equipped with sliding drawers in the transmission tunnel, a jack and plenty of storage in the truck bed.
