DHL Express Malaysia expands retail portfolio with mobile service unit and smart lockers
KUALA LUMPUR: DHL Express has expanded its presence in Malaysia with a new mobile ServicePoint and collaboration with Parcel365 to become its exclusive international shipping partner.
The logistics provider said the latest additions will increase the reach of its extensive local network of 146 retail outlets and service outlets by helping businesses access the global market.
Customers can enter the mobile unit to send shipments to destinations in Malaysia as well as any of the 220 countries and territories served by DHL, he added.
“The mobile ServicePoint is currently at Mont Kiara and will remain there until the end of March before embarking on a tour of the Klang Valley town,” the company said in a statement today.
The partnership with Parcel365 leverages innovative storage technology to provide customers with the ease and security of contactless drop-off and self-collection, he added.
“Parcel365’s smart lockers allow customers to retrieve documents and packages at any time of the day as well as dispatch overseas shipments via DHL Express, and it hosts 74 such lockers located in residences and high-rise offices in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Johor, and Sabah, with plans to further increase the number to 300 by the first half of 2022,” he said.
The company’s expansion comes as Malaysia’s Department of Statistics reported an increase of more than 36% in e-commerce transactions in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the previous year. – Bernama
