Patna: Bihar has emerged as number one when it comes to CDAC Mobile Seva’s SMS push user base, the state’s Information Technology Minister Jibesh Kumar said on Friday.
Mobile Seva, a national mobile governance initiative of the Union Department of Electronics and Information Technology (IT), provides multiple mobile channels such as SMS, IVRS and m-apps for the delivery of public services on mobile devices.
Officials said that many important services in the direct agricultural benefit transfer (DBT), education, health and finance programs depend on the IT department’s OTP and SMS service. CDAC provides SMS and OTP push services under the Mobile Service Delivery Gateway (MSDG) to various governments and state agencies.
The IT Minister in a statement said a total of 3, 62, 15, 41, 934 push SMS were sent and 149 sub-accounts were created and supported by the department till here. “I am proud that Bihar is leading in terms of OTP and SMS service provided by IT, making it the top user of MSDG in the country. The IT department is focused and committed to implementing technology reforms across all departments of the state, which will act as a catalyst to deliver good governance through e-governance to the citizens of the state,” said said Jibesh.
