Mobile technology connects students to major US companies
The HR technology company, created by manufacturing insiders from General Motors and Whirlpool who are creating a “text to apply” tool for the HR industry, TeamSense, will provide the use of the product to connect research students to companies looking for new talent at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference next week. The text-to-apply product has so far been used as a pilot program with TeamSense customer Hunter Douglas. Text-to-Apply was developed when a forward-thinking HR manager at Flexo Solutions (a division of Hunter Douglas) suggested TeamSense’s one-time texting capability could be used for recruiting. Amanda Patoka is a human resources manager who saw an opportunity to make it quick and easy for candidates to engage with the company via text message.
The product works by establishing branded text keywords for recruiting. For Hunter Douglas, texting “HD Jobs” to 592-30 automatically responds with a link directing the candidate to the company’s Applicant Tracking System.
“We provided 50 SkillsUSA partners with their own keywords and signs featured on their SkillsUSA TECHSPO booths so that students at the event can use their smartphones to apply for jobs that interest them,” said Sheila Stafford. , CEO of TeamSense. “As we navigate the recruitment challenges of the Great Resignation, we believe we can help with the solution by being the textual connection point between these deserving, young and talented students and the companies that need innovative and motivated employees. . ”
