New Delhi: Mobile internet technology company AppyHigh, which builds global products around the “digital hierarchy of needs” of smartphone users, has grown from 5 million to 50 million Monthly Active Users (MAUs) in its app ecosystem during the pandemic. AppyHigh’s application universe has garnered over 400 million downloads to date. The company earned an annualized recurring income (ARR) of $ 11 million (INR 80 crore).
The primed and profitable Indian startup has seen its MAUs spiraling, with users increasingly meeting their daily needs through mobile platforms for productivity and utility, entertainment, discovery and content creation since December 2019. The bulk of the demand has been noted from Bharat where users either switch from personal computer to mobile first or skip the personal computer step in their digital journey altogether.
According to industry reports, Indians spent an average of 4.8 hours on mobile applications – the highest on record – in 2021.
